Former Alabama wide receiver Jaren Hamilton has found a new home at Arizona State, according to his statement to On3.
The Gainesville, Florida native departs the Crimson Tide after two seasons, having arrived as a highly-touted four-star prospect in 2023. Hamilton was ranked as the nation’s 35th-best receiver in his recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite.
During the 2024 season, Hamilton appeared in four games: Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, Mercer, and the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan. His playing time included 17 special teams snaps and 30 offensive snaps, with 23 coming against Mercer, according to Pro Football Focus. While he recorded one tackle, Hamilton didn’t register any receptions.
Hamilton joins a wave of Alabama receivers who entered the transfer portal during December and January, including Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, Emmanuel Henderson, and Amari Jefferson. Among this group, Prentice had the most production with 11 catches for 129 yards and one touchdown.
The Crimson Tide has already begun restocking their receiver room, adding Miami transfer Isaiah Horton to join returning starters Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams for the 2025 season. Additional options include Cole Adams, Rico Scott, and recent cornerback-to-receiver convert Jaylen Mbakwe.
While Alabama’s winter transfer portal window has closed for outgoing players, those already in the portal can continue to make their commitment decisions.
