The Crimson Tide maintains its dominance in NFL playoff representation as the tournament moves into the Divisional Round.
After leading all college programs in players during Wild-Card Weekend, Alabama continues to top the list with 19 active players among the remaining eight teams. This count excludes Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who transferred to Oklahoma before entering the NFL as a second-round pick, though he spent three seasons at Alabama.
A potential Super Bowl LIX without Alabama representation remains possible, as neither the Kansas City Chiefs (AFC) nor the Los Angeles Rams (NFC) roster any former Crimson Tide players.
No college program has yet secured guaranteed representation in the championship game.
Other colleges with significant playoff representation include Georgia (15 players), Oklahoma (12), while Florida, Ohio State, and Penn State each have 11 players. Notre Dame rounds out the top group with 10 players.
Wild-Card Weekend significantly impacted some programs’ representation. Auburn, for instance, now has just one player remaining – former Hewitt-Trussville star Noah Igbinoghene of the Washington Commanders. The Tigers lost five alumni in Wild-Card defeats, plus offensive tackle Jack Driscoll to the Eagles’ injured reserve.
The playoff field has narrowed from 65 to 34 players with Alabama high school or college connections on active rosters.
