Nika Mühl, born on April 9, 2001, in Zagreb, Croatia, is a professional basketball player currently with the Seattle Storm in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She began her career with ŽKK Trešnjevka 2009 in Croatia before playing college basketball at the University of Connecticut (UConn) from 2020 to 2024. During her tenure at UConn, Mühl earned accolades such as the Big East Defensive Player of the Year twice and set records for career assists (686), single-season assists (284 during 2022–23), and single-game assists (15 against NC State on November 20, 2022).
In the 2024 WNBA Draft, Mühl was selected 14th overall by the Seattle Storm. She also signed with Beşiktaş JK in Turkey for the 2024–2025 season but suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in October 2024, leading to surgery on November 1. This injury has cast uncertainty over her participation in the 2025 WNBA season.
Off the court, Mühl is recognized for her fashion sense, being voted the WNBA’s Most Stylish Player of 2024 in a GQ Sports poll. Her eclectic style ranges from power suits to unique combinations like pairing a basketball jersey with high heels. Recently, Mühl returned to UConn’s Gampel Pavilion to support her close friend and former teammate, Paige Bueckers, during Senior Day. Despite her injury, she continues to be an active presence in the basketball community, attending games and supporting her peers.
As of March 2025, Nika Mühl is not married. She is in a relationship with fellow basketball player Nahiem Alleyne. Both athletes attended the University of Connecticut (UConn), where Mühl played for the women’s team and Alleyne for the men’s team. Alleyne currently plays professionally for AEK Athens in Greece. The couple maintains a relatively private personal life but has shared glimpses of their relationship on social media.
