Angel Reese has threatened to boycott WNBA games if the league fails to meet players’ demands in the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations. The Chicago Sky forward has continued to voice her frustration over her salary.
Reese signed a four-year, $324,383 rookie-scale contract ahead of her first pro season and is set to earn just under $75,000 in 2025, according to Spotrac.
With the WNBA Players Association opting out of the current CBA in October—though it remains in effect until October 31, 2025—players are set to negotiate a new deal. On her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese made it clear that players could sit out if negotiations do not go their way.
“If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,” she said while speaking with fellow WNBA player Dijonai Carrington.
Reese also expressed her excitement for the new CBA, which will be negotiated as the league experiences a major surge in popularity and will take effect in the 2026 season.
The WNBA recently secured a new 11-year television rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime, and NBCU in July.
