LeBron exits with groin injury; Jayson Tatum’s 40 points power Celtics past Lakers

BOSTON (AP) — Jayson Tatum delivered 40 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists as the Boston Celtics fended off a late push to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 111-101 on Saturday night.

With LeBron James sidelined in the locker room due to a strained groin, the Lakers trimmed a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to single digits. However, Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for Boston’s final 12 points to secure the victory. Brown contributed 31 points as the Celtics notched their fourth consecutive win.
