Wisconsin Badgers freshman point guard Daniel Freitag has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Freitag, a 6-foot-2 guard from Bloomington, Minnesota, was a four-star recruit in Wisconsin’s 2024 class. During his freshman season, he appeared in 14 games, averaging two minutes per contest, and scored a total of two points.
Freitag’s decision to transfer leaves the Badgers with a depleted backcourt, as they have now lost all three scholarship point guards from the previous season. Kamari McGee has exhausted his eligibility, and Camren Hunter has also entered the transfer portal.
Given his Minnesota roots and the fact that the University of Minnesota was among his original finalists, there is speculation that Freitag might consider joining the Minnesota Golden Gophers. However, his future destination remains uncertain at this time.
